Nov 18, 2017 · The key actually comes from Italy. My Giulia was missing one of the two fobs due to a sale of the dealership and chaos. They ordered one, it took about a week, and then needed the car for an hour to clear out key data and reprogram the car for only the 2 keys that were physically there.

Insert the new battery, type CR 2032, in the right direction and close the key again, aligning the two parts with the help of the pin, present in one of the two parts. The salesman was demonstrating how it would unlock automatically if I left the key in the trunk and it did not. One key was in the trunk and the other in the back seat. The car is supposed to detect either location.

I have the proximity unlock feature (unlock when you touch the door handle) disabled. If you store the fob close to the car, it has the potential to drain the fob battery quickly.

Jan 25, 2017 · Complete about-face: Alfa Romeo customer service called back to state that the window remote control up/down feature will NOT be enabled for USA based models. The feature *DOES* exist for European models. My .02-- the issue is "coding". If the body control module can be re-coded, the window feature will operate.
